In line with growing interest in sailing 5.5mR boats, several of them have been rediscovered in the United States.
The most prominent one is the recently restored 1952 Olympic Gold Medal boat of Dr. Britton Chance, 5.5 US 1 „Complex II“.
Interested owners and sailors are invited to contact Daniel Rossi with information about other 5.5mR boats located in the USA, so information can be compiled and added to the 5.5m Class Association database. Maybe in a not too distant future we will then see them racing again in North America and possibly triggering interest in the Evolution and Modern divisions, as well. Daniel Rossi, who is heading the North American 5.5's has a new design for a Modern on his desk.
