5-Nations-Cup Modern winner BAH 21

During this year a total of 22 Modern boats, 10 Evolution boats and 8 Classic boats have been accumulating low points in at least one of the 5 dedicated regattas for the 5-Nations-Cup. The Nations visited by travelling boats have been Italy, Canada, Germany, Denmark and Switzerland. One discard is helping to reduce travel distances.

Best Modern boat and this years' winner of the respective perpetual Silver Cup, is 5.5 BAH 21 "New Moon", the latest addition to the 5.5m fleet. Top position in the Alpen Cup and 2nd place at the Swiss Open has helped to the overall achievement. Next in line are SUI 222 and SUI 213.

In the Evolution category, 5.5 GER 82 "Sinewave" has won, mainly due to an impressive win of the German & Dutch Open in Glücksburg, showing the performance abilities of this Doug Peterson design and its crew. Following in low points are SUI 182 and SUI 154.

The Classic count resulted in same points for GER 33 and SUI 100, making 5.5 GER 33 "Blueprint" the winner in this category; the deed of gift is stating that the older boat wins. Close runner up is CAN 22.

For now, the perpetual Modern Cup will have to fly from Geneva to The Bahamas, while the Evo & Classic Cups will be handed over to the new winners at the Hamburg hanseboot boatshow in November.

As to 2016, sailors should prepare making travel plans for these countries: Italy, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands and France. Details will be announced in due course.
