A perfect start with three races in champagne conditions

It was a touching moment for Biwi Reich, competitor at the 1964 Olympic Games seeing his Enoshima Trophy returning to his home club DTYC.

Eight classics boats were on the start line with five Italian crews and three boats from Germany including the legendary Subbnboana.

Sad news, Dr. Wolfgang Oehler, the owner of the Olympic boat sadly passed away after a long time of suffering. His brother Christian was convinced that it was in Wolgang’s spirit to bring the boat on the start line.

Using the GPS smartmark buoys  Race officer Friedrich Hauger set up the classic Olympic triangle course in a growing breeze. Three fantastic races could be held, and ITA 33 with Guido Tommasi, ITA Volpina with Fabrizio Cavazza and Christian Hemmerich with G12 Subbnboana were fighting hard.

ITA 36 scores 1,1,2 leading the fleet ahead of G 12 with 3,4,1 equal with ITA 33 with the results 2,2,3. Two more races are planned for the next days.
