"Complex II" re-christening ceremony, Newport, RI - July 2009

Last Summer our friend Gordon Ingate represented the 5.5 International Class Association at the re-christening of 5.5 sail number USA-1, “Complex II”.
The ceremony was held on July 25, a day after 1952 Olympic Champion, Dr. Britton Chance’s 96th birthday.

Now restored, Complex II will be utilized to promote the history of the sport of sailing and preservation of historical wood-hulled sailboats, inspire and encourage interest in sailing and development of future international racing talent and capitalize on the winning aspects of Complex II and its Olympic champion helmsman, Dr. Britton Chance and crew, for purposes of raising awareness on a global basis for cancer research and treatments.
